Expect the most amazing few days of your life!
There's loads of lists online of basic, obvious things you'll need to bring, tent, sleeping bag, wipes, clothes etc
have a look here - it has everything you could ever want to know: http://www.glastoearth.com/the-faq
Apart from the obvious stuff:
I'd recommend you take packets of tissues to use as loo roll as they squash up easily into a bag instead of a roll.
Deoderising wipes
Dry shampoo is worth having but it doesn't work that well for everybody.
Take a smallish bag - one that goes across your body. You need to carry stuff with you (poncho, money, loo roll, germ wipe etc) but you don't want to be messing on with a rucksack or anything. It has to have a zip otherwise you'll lose everything.
Bring a little torch because the toilets get dark.
I hung a white bedsheet over my tent so i could recognise it in the dark. Make sure you can identify it - use a flag or something - because you WILL lose it. Having said that, i never went back to my tent when it was still dark.
Don't bother bringing food. You can get anything and it's all cheap.
When you're not bothered about seeing anybody - wander round and see the other stages. I'm sure loads of people parked themselves in front of the pyramid all weekend and never moved but there's so much other stuff to see! The circus stuff was pretty cool last year and some of the smaller venues have amazing bands. Shangri La and Trash city are unmissable.
I managed to have a kind-of wash on the saturday afternoon but i think i probably could've got away without it if i'd had to. The dust kinda dries your hair out and makes it mucky. My hair is normally an oil slick after 1 or two days of not washing but i found the problem was more that it was matted, dusty and mucky rather than greasy. I think being outside all day makes it not as bad too. I'd curled it in rags and backcombed it on the first day anyway so i think that makes it easier to get away with the messy-beach hair rather than trying to keep it neat. Besides, if that doesn't work for you, you can always use a scarf to cover up your roots. Loads of girls wore them on the last days!
I never had a problem smelling either. You don't get sweaty like at normal gigs (except in the tents) and I think i paid more attention to putting LOADS of deoderant anyway so it's not too bad. The mud is more of a problem as it's so easy to get caked in the stuff.
You can take alcohol - basically unrestricted although you can't take glass onsite. Everybody drinks cider onsite so you'll need to bring enough of something else for all weekend if you don't like it. As you're under 18, maybe bring enough drink anyway. You won't have any trouble getting served but it's best to have backup.
With drugs, the only problem you'll have is getting them inside. Once you're onsite, everybody has them everywhere out in the open - like nothing you've ever seen before. If you're too scared to smuggle them in - I found plenty of people selling weed and mdma. There's also loads of stalls selling poppers and 'legal highs'. There's barely any police onsite. With regards getting stuff inside, i heard stories of a guy carrying 2 tesco bags full of weed and nobody stopped him. There's police on the gates but they don't search many people. So many people have drugs they couldn't stop them all as it would ruin the festival. However, i did see one girl crying as they ripped up her ticket at the gate. It's a risk you take, but i think if you're clever about where you hide it (shoes, bottom of bag, in a can of beer etc) and don't look suspicious then you'll be absolutely fine.
WOO have fun! I'm so excited! I'm going alone this year - my mates weren't up for it (too muddy haha) or couldn't get tickets. Not worried though - i went with mates last year but ended up spending most of the festival with people i met as my mates didn't like the same music and didn't want to party. Can't wait for this year!!
