Two guys which makes the party awkward, advice on what i could do?

Well i use to see this guy ';Steve';, kinda casually and he wanted more but i couldn't because he was my best friends, bf's best friend. A longish story which i won't go into.

Well i now have a bf, which i like alot.

My friend just moved into a new house with her bf and they are having a house warming. There will be less than 10 ppl there and my bf doesnt know anyone. ';Steve'; still really likes me.

I know there is going to be so much tension if my bf is there. Im afraid the boys might exchange snide remarks and lead from there into a fight.

I dont want to not invite my bf, but if he goes it will be awkard. And i can't not go to the party...she my best mate.

So any other alternatives you can come up with? Two guys which makes the party awkward, advice on what i could do?
first off there are so many BFs in that question its hard to really comprehend your predicament. but i think i get it.

Tell your boyfriend(i assume thats what u meant) everything, the whole truth. Ask him if perhaps he could take a guys night out on that particular night to avoid the said conflict.

If he's a good guy he should A: jump at the opportunity to barhop with his buddies and B: understand that you don't want to make Steve jealous and angry since he's not a bad guy.

When explaining this to your boyfriend make it sound like your boyfriend is way more attractive and impressive to you then Steve. This will make him feel less threatened and more open to the plan. Two guys which makes the party awkward, advice on what i could do?
You could be ill? You have to attend something family related, so you can't make it? (Maybe not the best solution..)

It is quite a difficult situation. Have you mentioned to your best friend about Steve? Wouldn't she understand the party situation? Maybe she could help in some way to invite a few more people round, or even ask her if your boyfriend can take some mates along?

Another suggestion- ask Steve just to play it cool and not make it awkward for you boyfriend.

I wouldn't suggest telling your boyfriend, mainly because he'll feel in the way, and it would become even more awkward.

Hope this helps.
